How we choose

A good purchase starts with the life it needs to fit. We ask about your priorities, constraints and what you already own before putting options in front of you.

Research, not guesswork

The concierge creates AI-assisted research shortlists using web search. They are not hands-on tests, human-reviewed editorial recommendations, or promises that an item will suit you. A source link shows where the research came from; it does not verify every claim.

Buying guides explain useful comparisons, practical trade-offs and what to check before buying. Each guide includes its sources and the date it was researched. The guides on our shelf are researched overnight and publish after automatic checks that every line makes sense and is safe to publish; the deep dives in the guide library go through editorial review. Neither one approves a new concierge conversation.

Fit comes before the retailer

We ask the research service to compare fit, compatibility, credible independent reviews, documented quality and useful features, with a concrete reason and trade-off for each pick. When the evidence supports them, we aim for three distinct options. We do not fill a shortlist with weaker picks just to reach three, or call an item universally best.

Verified price feeds will let us compare lower-spend, middle and higher-priced options. That connection is not active yet. We do not invent prices, customer ratings or review consensus. A higher price is not a quality award.

Products and services are selected before commercial links are attached. A commission does not decide which option makes the shortlist or its position. If a suitable recommendation has no participating commercial relationship, we can still show its research source. Where a participating retailer has a research-backed exact product match, its purchasing link can be shown without changing the product selection. Commercial links carry a disclosure.

What to check before buying

Confirm the exact model or service, current price, availability, compatibility, seller, shipping and return terms. For subscriptions, check renewal and cancellation conditions. Any retailer prices shown come from retailer listings when the shortlist loads; confirm the price at checkout.

Our limits

The concierge does not diagnose conditions or provide treatment, unsafe-purchase or regulated financial recommendations. Matching does not verify current seller, stock or price. Amazon links and other retailer links shown on a pick can earn commissions. Retailer prices are checked when the shortlist loads and can change. Read our commercial disclosures for the current status.
